If ya Can't Stand the Heat, Get Outta the Kitchen
The cooler weather is creeping it's way in and bringing with it all things fall! I tried out a new recipe the other night for kettle corn and it was a huge success! Family and friends keep asking for more so I figured I'd go ahead and share the process here:
You will need:
1/4 c- vegetable oil
1/2 c- whole wheat kernels
1/4 c- granulated sugar
1 tsp- coarse salt
1 large pot with a tight fitting lid!
Combine oil and kernels in large pot and heat on medium until oil begins to sizzle. As soon as it sizzles, sprinkle in sugar. Quickly cover! Once the kernels begin to pop, shake the pot- keep near the heat source while doing so. Once popping slows, approx. 3 min., remove from heat source and wait 30 seconds while any remaining kernels cook. Place popcorn in a bowl and mix with salt. Last, divide into smaller portions, grab a flick, pair with your favorite drink, and enjoy!
