go outside

the temps here are finally dropping which means we will be spending a lot of our free time outdoors. yesterday we ventured into palo duro canyon just outside of amarillo for a quick evening hike. thanks to the crazy amount of rain we received this year (still far less than average) the landscape was more colorful than i'd seen it in years. we even caught a glimpse of an aoudad watching us from a distance.

the pictures below show one of my favorite things about the canyon- its layers. i find it fascinating how much the landscape changes from one visit to another.
